Program Manager

A charismatic young man full of zeal and energy for God’s work. Born on February 20, 1999, in Uganda, Awusa is a Christian who has always been driven to make a positive impact in his community.
As the Program Manager for Save Life Christian Ministries, he has been instrumental in overseeing the organization, control, and coordination of all programs since 2020 till date. His tireless efforts have been a blessing to the organization, and his achievements are a testament to his dedication and passion.
Before joining Save Life Christian Ministries, Awusa gained valuable experience as a Studio Presenter, Cashier, and News Reporter at Spirit FM Koboko, a Christian radio under Homnet Limited and a Classroom Teacher at Koboko Preparatory Primary School. Alongside the role at Save Life Christian Ministries, he served as the Speaker, then President of Butabika West Nile Students Association (BUWESA) during his time in Butabika. Additionally, he worked as a Census Enumeration Supervisor with the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) in Koboko district during the National Housing and Population census 2024. And currently, he works as a Volunteer Psychiatric Clinical Officer at Koboko General Hospital and continues to serve as a presenter, advert traffic officer and production assistant at Spirit FM Koboko. These roles have not only deepened his understanding of community needs but also instilled in him a sense of empathy and compassion.
Awusa holds a Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry from the School of Psychiatric Clinical Officers-Butabika, Kampala- Uganda. He has also received training in Project Management Essentials from Disaster Ready an initiative of Cornerstone Foundation, Radio Basics training from Spirit FM 104.5 Koboko under Homnet Limited. Additionally, he has attended workshops on The Nigeria Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Post-Workshop Webinar on Sickle Cell, World Sepsis Congress Spotlight organized by the Global Sepsis Alliance and the Physician-Patient Alliance for Health and Safety. Entrepreneurial skills, mental wellness, and Finance Literacy with Junior Achievements Uganda.
A skilled communicator, Awusa is fluent in English, Kakwa, Lugbarati, and some Kiswahili. He possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills, cultural competence, and sensitivity, making him an effective leader in diverse settings.
Under his leadership, Awusa’s office has successfully coordinated numerous internal activities, including fellowships, Bible studies, life skills trainings, children and youth conferences, as well as large-scale external events like crusades, conferences, radio evangelism, and outreaches to churches, schools, and orphanages. His exceptional organizational skills, coupled with his ability to multitask, have enabled him to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring seamless execution and outstanding results.
Some of Awusa’s most notable achievements have been the organization and coordination of the Annual August Youth and Children Conferences, and school outreaches in 2022, 2023, and 2024 in Uganda (Koboko and refugee camps) and Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. These events have brought together hundreds of young people, providing them with a platform to grow in faith, develop valuable life skills, and build meaningful relationships.
In addition, Awusa has played a key role in coordinating mega crusades in the Democratic Republic of Congo (3), in Koboko (2) and one in OCEA C, Rhino camp refugee settlement in 2024. These crusades have been instrumental in spreading the Gospel and bringing hope to thousands of people.
Awusa’s commitment to leadership development has also been evident in the leadership capacity-building program he coordinated in 2023. This initiative equipped young leaders with essential skills and knowledge, empowering them to make a positive impact in their communities.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Awusa worked tirelessly to coordinate Post-COVID-19 skills trainings for vulnerable refugee children and youth alongside the radio evangelism program in 2021, 2022 and 2023 in partnership with CMSI. This program provided critical support to these greatly affected by the pandemic, helping them to rebuild their lives and regain their footing.
Furthermore, Awusa has been instrumental in launching the “Parenting in Focus” radio program, which addressed the critical issue of teenage pregnancy in 2022/23. Through this program, he has helped to raise awareness, promote healthy relationships, and provide guidance to parents and caregivers.
Other notable achievements include agricultural engagements, trauma healing, guidance and counselling, other outreaches to schools, hospitals, and orphanages. These initiatives have demonstrated Awusa’s commitment to holistic ministry, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the community.
As a hard working, self-motivated, and flexible individual, Awusa brings a unique set of skills to his role. He is an expert in clinical psychiatry, project management, and radio presentation. His expertise in mental health and psychosocial support, education, and community service has been invaluable to the organization.
In his free time, Awusa enjoys community service, reading, watching educative documentaries, playing and watching football, and exploring new places. His brilliant and charismatic nature drives him to continuously seek knowledge and improve his skills.
